Senior Accounts Assistant  

Reporting to: Finance Team Leader/ Finance Executive
Department: Finance

 

About the Role

The Senior Accounts Assistant will perform a variety of general accounting support tasks, working as part of the Accounts team.

Due to the restructuring and expansion of the Accounts Administration function, this will be a perfect opportunity for someone keen to be part of a growing and developing team.

You will work along aside our Finance Executive in preparation for a Team Leader role; you will be coached in completion of 121s, appraisals and PDPs for direct reports; you will learn how to manage the tasks undertaken by the team to ensure they are being completed within their designated time frame.

The successful candidate will be a passionate, hardworking and driven individual who is determined to excel in their role. 3 years’ experience required

 

Responsibilities

To perform a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department including:

  • Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
  • Compilation of a daily payment report
  • Reconciliation of 2 Bank Accounts with a high volume of transactions – prior experience of bank reconciliation work is essential
  • Reconciliation of various euro bank accounts
  • Other reconciliations as required
  • Answering email queries across multiple Accounts mailboxes
  • Other ad hoc accounting duties as required
  • Month-end duties

 

Personal qualities

  • AAT part qualified desirable
  • An understanding of nominal ledger accounting
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Motivated
  • Well organised
  • Good levels of initiative
  • Able to prioritise
  • Methodical
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of financial services is advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure
