About the Role

tifgroup is looking for a PR Assistant to support their new PR department by creating content for and managing social media channels, assisting with administrative PR duties and protecting tifgroup’s reputation on online review sites and forums.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of how PR and social media work for business, and be able to work under pressure, in a fast-moving environment. However, you won’t be alone as you’ll be part of a close-knit team who will be there to support you every step of the way.

Although this is an entry-level position, tifgroup is a place where you can develop quickly. We invest heavily in learning and personal development so it’s an ideal starting point for anyone looking for a career in PR.

The role will include but not be limited to:

  • Creating interesting, relevant and engaging social media content to share among target audiences (text, video, audio, images, graphics, etc).
  • Writing long and short-form content to post on tifgroup’s corporate channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and their website)
  • Curating content to help position tifgroup as a leader within the insurance industry
  • Responding to online forums and social media queries promptly
  • Monitoring media threats
  • Keeping the business informed about any negative online activity
  • Administrative and other tasks to support the PR team

About the You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a keen interest in the Social and Digital PR world and public relations more generally. Experience is advantageous, but not essential to the role
  • Have excellent copywriting skills
  • Be a creative thinker
  • Have a basic understanding of online marketing tools
  • Have excellent communication skills and an interest in current affairs
  • Have good multi-tasking skills, with a particular eye for detail

Personal Qualities:

  • Someone enthusiastic, flexible and a team player
  • A creative thinker with good organisational skills
  • Computer literate with a sound understanding of Microsoft Office

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including Maths and English.
  • English or Business-related A-Level (or equivalent qualification) is desirable but not essential
  • Basic knowledge of design software such as Photoshop would be beneficial but is not essential

An understanding of basic website editing (such as WordPress) would be beneficial but not essential
